2007 Placements:
Highest CTC: 14.7 Lakhs per annum (Motorola)
Average CTC: 8.5 Lakhs per annum

Account Planning Highest: 7.5 LPA (Mudra Communications)
Media Highest: 11.25 LPA (Hindustan Times)
Brand Management Hishest: 14.7 LPA (Motorola)
Data Analytics / Marketing Research Highest: 9.97 LPA (eClerx)

Placements at MICA have been going north-bound consistently over the last few years. But of course, you’d argue that that’s the norm for any business school worth its salt. True.

But the difference at MICA, is that the industry is starting to appreciate the difference that MICAns can bring to their businesses. The difference in the course and the education at MICA reflects itself in the work that a MICAn does when he enters the industry. The industries which absorb MICAns are those which MICAns excel in. Media houses like SET, Star, BBC, Disney, NDTV, CNN-IBN and MTV have absorbed those interested in Media Management profiles. Leo Burnett, Mudra, JWT and FCB-Ulka have picked up those with advertising dreams. Marketing Research students have always found their calling at ACNeilsen, IMRB, ORGMarg, Research International, etc. Data Analytics firms like HP Analytics and Fractals are for the Analytics-minded. And the next big thing, Brand Management, puts students into highly interesting marketing profiles, for sectors ranging from consumer goods (Godrej, L’Oreal, CavinKare, Motorola) to banking (HDFC, StanChart) to B2B products (Tata Steel, Essar). Why, MICAns have even interned with NGOs such as Deepak Foundation!

Now, you might still say, “Heck, 8.5 is no great shakes!”. True. But consider the growth. A MICAn in his chosen field rises so quickly that a double-digit salary is just a few years away. Few managers have excelled, as MICAns have in their areas of expertise. To prove that what I’m saying is not horsefodder, check out how our alumni have done. 9 out of 11 managers in the media vertical of Ernst&Young is a statistic that speaks for itself!

    I can see that the placement data is of 2007…I would appreciate if you place more recent data viz. 2008 data and if possible the trend for the 2009 batch.

  2. I heard there were companies that came to recruit for Corp Commn/PR roles as well.. Can you elaborate on that?
